Let’s ring in the new year together with music, prayer, and the fellowship of believers.
Happy 2024!
Since Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year, we will have only one service that day - at 4:00 pm.
We hope that you can join us this Sunday. It will be a beautiful service of music, candlelight, and communion. Invite one person who may not have a church family to celebrate with.
We will celebrate our leadership teams - both current members and those taking on team roles in 2024 - on Sunday, Jan 7. Join us from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Lighthouse.
Looking forward to 2024 and what God has in store for Westside!

We need all the items brought to church by this Sunday, Dec 17. Please note that a few food items need to be refrigerated; please let Bonnie know when you arrive.
It’s not too late to contribute to the Christmas baskets. There are two separate sign-ups - one for food and one for gifts. You may also donate towards the purchase of items (please indicate on your check or online gift.)
Let’s try to get at least one gift for every child. Gifts are to be wrapped with the child’s number (1-11) on the tag. Please do not put any names on the “from” portion.
Bonnie will need help boxing and delivering the items to families on the afternoon of Friday, Dec 22. Please let her know if you can help.
Thank you for your generous hearts!
We’re looking for a new greeter for the fourth Sunday of every month. You would join a team of eight - two persons each Sunday - so you would greet only once a month, and occasionally when there’s a 5th Sunday if you’re available.
Here is a detailed description of the role.
Contact Pastor Brett or the church office to volunteer.
Two children have been added to our Christmas Gifts signup. Let’s try to get at least one gift for every child. Consider teaming up if necessary for items that cost a bit more. Gifts are to be wrapped with the child’s number (1-11) on the tag. Please do not put any names on the “from” portion.

Westsiders, we have just received the information for the Beaverton School District family that we are “adopting” for Christmas.
There are 3 children, ages 6 - 15. Their needs and wants are simple but the items must be at church this Sunday, Dec 3. Use this signup, https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050B4BABAF22AB9-46526295-christmas to indicate what you would like to contribute.
You may also give financially towards the gifts online or at church. Bonnie B has graciously agreed to purchase any missing items on Monday and Tuesday. Please indicate that your monetary gift is for BSD gifts.
Bonnie may need someone else to drop off the gifts at Beaverton High School on Dec 6, 7, or 8. Please contact Bonnie if you can help.
Merry G shares the latest about the Western Farm Workers Association:
It has been a very busy time for the members and volunteers!
On November 11, Kaiser Permanente opticians gave us 97 appointments for complete eye exams and free glasses at their facility in Tanasbourne. Every patient received prescription eyeglasses, and three patients will have eye surgeries donated. Thank you to the opticians and staff!
For our Thanksgiving food distribution, 85 families received a turkey and seven bags of groceries. The food was sorted, bagged, and numbered before the teams of drivers delivered them to the members' homes. The whole day went smoothly and joyfully.
Our Christmas holiday distributions are being planned now. We will be collecting toys, new clothing, and food. Here is our timeline:
Friday, December 15, Toy Sort at Hillsboro United Methodist church. Gifts are bagged and labeled by family.
Saturday, December 16, Family Holiday Party at HUMC--dinner, childrens' crafts, and gift distribution.
Saturday December 23 : Christmas Food Distribution at Reedville Presbyterian Church. Food will be sorted, bagged, and delivered to homes.
