Family Promise will be hosting their annual "Sweets for a Cause" fundraiser on Tuesday, February 11, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Beaverton Resource Center, 13565 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR 97005.
Sweets for a Cause is an event where bakers, whether it be a hobby or a profession, provide their sweet masterpieces to be tasted and/or judged by attendees to win prizes and bragging rights! Bakers may also sell their yummy goodies at the event or donate a goodie or two to be sold by Family Promise with the proceeds benefiting Family Promise. You may also donate leftovers to provide Valentines treats for the Family Promise client families in shelters. To participate as a baker, read this flyer
There is a $10 entry fee for those who choose to attend without baking. You can then be a judge or official taster of all of the treats.
By participating or donating to the event, you are directly supporting shelter and rehousing programs for individuals and young families. Learn more at familypromisegwc.org

Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to achieving global gender equality. An excerpt from the Stewardship letter mailed last Tuesday:
As we embrace the spirit of giving during this holiday season, I invite you to prayerfully consider
participating in our annual Christmas Offering. This special offering will be taken at our
Christmas Eve service on December 24th. The majority of our offering this year (80%) will go to
sending Westside – yes, the congregation – to camp next year. Yes! we are hoping to book a
day or two at one of our wonderful Methodist camps and retreat centers next year to grow closer
to each other and to the Lord. Your generosity will help defray the costs for everyone!
Two other ministries will receive the remaining 20%:
● We will be supporting Ty Collier, our Stewardship month guest speaker, by sending him
10% towards his work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in our area.
● We will be setting aside the other 10% to the Helping Hands Ministry Fund run by a team
of disciples at Westside. This fund has been very active this year, and has run dry due
to the demand of those who need a helping hand once in a while - a bag of groceries, a
tank of gas, paying down a utility bill, etc. We want to fund this ministry so that many
people can continue to experience God’s blessing in hard times.
Please listen to what God places on your heart this giving season.
We will see you on Christmas Eve - Tuesday - at 4:00 pm.
Our discussion group, The Journey, will take two weeks off for the holidays.
Please join us again on Thursday, January 9, at 10:00 am in the Family Room.
We are providing gifts for children and food for their families this Christmas.
The gifts signup is full (THANK YOU!) but there’s still time - and a need - for you to sign up for the food sign-up
All gifts should be wrapped and tagged with the child’s number and name (see the signup list). All gifts and food must be brought to church this Sunday, December 22. You will need to make arrangements with Bonnie B if that doesn’t work for you.
Donations are always appreciated, to purchase perishable food and/or missing items. Please note your donation as Outreach.
Bonnie will be organizing and delivering gifts and food on the afternoon of Monday, Dec 23. Please let her know if you can help.
Thank you!
The joy in the room during Sunday’s concert was contagious - hopefully everyone got a nice filling of the Lord's Spirit and presence!
Thanks to all the talented musicians at Westside and Korean Evangelical Churches!
