Native American Ministries Day this Sunday
May 1 is one of six United Methodist Church’s Special Giving days, when congregations around the world unite to give to an important cause. May 1 is Native American Ministries Day.
An offering is taken on this day and is used to develop and strengthen Native American ministries in the annual conferences, and Native American rural, urban, reservation ministries and communities. It also provides scholarships for Native Americans attending United Methodist schools of theology.
Donations support vital ministries and churches in Native American communities. Half of the donations collected remain within the Annual Conference to provide hope to children and youth; hope for a brighter future in impoverished communities and a voice to those who have felt voiceless for years.
There will be a special insert in the Sunday bulletin with more information.

Holy Week Thanks
What a wonderful Holy Week we had last week!
On Maundy Thursday, we gathered for a delicious meal prepared by Sandy and participated in a special Seder (Passover) program.
Pastor Brett preached during the Good Friday service at Vermont Hills UMC, which featured the seven last words of Christ.
On Sunday, we celebrated our resurrected Savior! If you were unable to attend, watch this video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/eB2mTFwgq_M. It was a great day for music, praise, and confetti!
Thank you to everyone who helped with every aspect of these services.

Wooden Pallets
The Gardening Group is looking for wooden pallets in good condition. They will repurpose them into raised beds for growing vegetables on the church campus.
Look for pallets while you’re out shopping. Likely spots include garden centers, flooring, pet food, or furniture stores. If not marked ‘Property of…’, many businesses will allow you to take them if you ask permission first.
Gardening Group on Wednesday
Don’t forget that the Gardening Group will be gathering on Wednesday, Apr 13, at 6:00 pm, rain or shine.
They will walk around Westside's campus, see where some good spots might be to build boxes (based on sun, wind, energy analysis, etc.) and start taking inventory of what we already have and what we will need to get started.
Speak to Pastor Brett if you are interested in joining the group or supporting them through donations.

Apricot chicken
Rice pilaf with almonds
Salted caramel matzo brittle
White or rose wine
Non-alcoholic beverages
Matzo is gluten-free. The menu is dairy-free except for the dessert brittle.

This is a kid-friendly event for all ages.

Don't Throw It Away!
As you’re doing your spring cleaning, please consider bringing gently used items to church for Family Promise guests. You may leave them in the family room, at the end of the hall to the right.
Four families recently lost everything in a fire at an apartment complex. They are in need of clothing for all ages (especially children), bedding (queen and twin size), and household items of all sorts.
You may also donate by check or PayPal; please indicate Family Promise.
