Still Collecting Non-perishables

Our Lighthouse building housed several members during the recent winter storms. It was a blessing to be able to offer a warm and safe place for them.

Before the next ice storm, we would like to stockpile some non-perishables. Bonnie B will keep track of the food inventory. Any items close to their expiration date will be used at one of our ministries.

Besides canned items, some other options are nut butters, crackers, dried fruits, granola and protein bars, and grains such as rice.

Please bring food items to church this Sunday.

Start "The Journey"

Join Pastor Brett in the Family Room on Thursday, Feb 1, from 9:30-10:30 am to explore and discuss what matters to you in your daily walk with Jesus.

Part bible study, part prayer, part spiritual journey. Participants are encouraged to suggest topics for discussion.

Contact Pastor Brett for more information.

Besides canned items, some other options are nut butters, crackers, dried fruits, granola and protein bars, and grains such as rice.

If you are able, please bring food items to church this Sunday.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The need for blood is constant, but only 3 percent of the U.S. population donates. If you have been turned away before, please visit the Red Cross website to see if you are now eligible. It takes less than an hour, but can help save the lives of up to three patients!

WFWA Update

Here’s an update on the Western Farm Workers Association from Merry G:

Hello Everyone, and Best Wishes in the New Year.

We had a very busy and successful holiday season this year. We filled toy and clothing gift requests for more than 230 children. We held a dinner party for the families, with entertainment by a folkloric dance troupe, and some excellent piano music. In the children's room, we had pizza, made ornaments, and did lots of craft projects. The parents were then able to pick up their gifts during the dinner.

On Dec 22nd, we had a very good turnout of volunteers  for the food distribution. Westside donated 50 pounds of beans and masa. Each family received seven bags of food, and we were able to deliver them to 87 households.

We are now serving the membership with a Clothing Closet on every other Saturday. A small fee of ten cents per item is waived if members are unable to donate. We are looking forward to our next newspaper very soon, where you can find out more information.

Thank you all who helped out in 2023. Please join us again this year.
