Raised Beds, Part 2

The next step in enjoying beautiful plants in newly-built raised beds on our campus is to level the boxes and fill them with soil.  The soil has been delivered, the seedlings are ready and waiting…now all we need is you and your wheelbarrow!

Please contact Pastor Brett if you can help, to arrange a time at your convenience.

Help Build Hope 2022

Can you build a house in a day?  How about just the walls?  Yes, you can!

With several teams of volunteers from Westside and Christ UMCs, we will construct all the walls for a Habitat for Humanity home on Friday and Saturday, July 8-9.

Precision cutting will be done on Friday, a whole lot of nailing on Saturday, at Christ UMC,  12755 NW Dogwood Street, Portland.  Contact Wendy F for more information.

Migrant Camp 2022

Heikes Camp is opening this week. We will be taking out a hot meal every Saturday at 5:00 pm, beginning this Saturday, May 28. If anyone would like to help with the Saturday meals this summer, or donate money we would appreciate it.

There will be 15 workers staying at Heikes this year. We get to eat with the folks as well. We are hoping Pastor Leo from one of the Tigard Hispanic churches will come out again this summer. He was great with them last year.

We are able to get some basic food needs from the Cornelius UMC Food Pantry but would appreciate donations to be able to provide fresh produce to them every week.

If there are any questions, please contact Bonnie at 503-464-6914.

Worship at the Lake

August 21 is our annual worship service at Hagg Lake.  Everyone is invited!

For those new to Westside, we worship at the lake each summer at the Sain Creek Recreation Area, which has a wheelchair accessible, covered pavilion with full restrooms.  Day parking is $7 per car ($5 for 55+ and veterans)

You will have the full worship experience - music, prayer, good conversation - and the opportunity to be baptized in the lake.  All of this and a potluck lunch!

Please contact Pastor Brett if you are desiring baptism.

What an Event!

Thank you to all who provided dinner to the Westmont College Choir on Wednesday night.  We fed 35-40 people, then enjoyed a concert with 75 in attendance!  Most of the audience were non-Westsiders.  What a wonderful way to minister to our community!
